Freya stands still long enough for a one second exposure. This is the one and only hallway in my wee little house.

I think this is the best photo of Freya I’ve ever taken. She’s in the window next to my bed.
Giant Jellyfish Invade Japan

No, it’s not a silly b-grade horror movie. It’s true. At least, according to National Geographic. (Yeah, that’s National Geographic, not the National Enquirer.)
Hamster tongue

Yes, hamster tongue – I can’t decide if it’s cute or disturbing.
And my Flickr addiction continues to grow. Yeah, I’m looking at pictures of people with cats on their heads. Someone, please make me stop! I just keep clicking and clicking and clicking…
Mishka and Phil

Mishka seems to have adopted Phil the Phlamingo as his own.
Neighborhood Photos

To continue the recent photo obsession, I went for a walk today and took photos along the way. You can see the set I took on Flickr. I might actually be happy with a few of them.
Lamp and closet door

When I woke up this afternoon (hey, I’m not a morning person), I noticed a cool reflection on the TV set that’s near my bed. I thought I’d try to take a picture of it. This led to a series I’m calling, “how many sucky pictures can I take from my bed without sitting up, with the blinds and shades down and with my camera that has a max ISO setting of 400.” This is my favorite of the ones I took.
You can see the full set here.

You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll rewind and watch it again and again.
New bed
Posted by miri On 10 January, 2006
My new mattress and box springs arrived today. I can’t wait to curl up in bed tonight and not immediately roll into the valley in the middle of a 20 year old mattress. The new set? Tall! It’s above butt height. No more “falling into” bed for me – it’s “climbing into” from now on. It’s not just the cushy mattress part that’s taller, the box springs are too. I know this for sure because the dust ruffle doesn’t go all the way to the floor like it did with the old box springs. So, are they just making mattress/box springs taller these days? Or did the old one get shorter with age?

Mishka enjoys the sun thanks to a Mishka-sized hole he’s made in the blinds.
