Back to the zoo, again

Took the new lens to the zoo.

Exploring

New camera lens…

I think I likes it.

Dude, where’s my cappuccino?

On our way to an off-site meeting, my boss decided she needed some Starbucks. We were going through the drive-thru when we saw this dog in the car ahead of us. I handed her the camera and she snapped some shots. (Sorry it’s blurry, she’s not used to my camera.)

Stipe lurves U2

Here’s a great video of Michael Stipe (of REM) enjoying a bit of a U2 concert. There’s also a bit of nice commentary on what music and being a musician means to him.

dSLR sensor cleaning

So, I noticed dots in the sky of some of my recent photos. Research pointed to dust on my camera’s sensor. I went to the local camera shop and paid a good chunk of money on something they recommended. It was a kit that included a little vacuum and some wet/dry swabs. After vacuuming like crazy (following the instructions of using short bursts) and following up with the wet/dry swabs, my sensor is now dirtier than when I started. Is this thing actually supposed to work? I was shining a flashlight in there while vacuuming and I could see dust particles sitting on the sensor and I think they were actually taunting the vacuum and refusing to move. *sigh*

So then I tried a cheap little bulb blower. I had better luck, but there’s still dust in there. I’m not happy. Not happy at all.

Another photo trek

This time, in downtown Austin. Check my flickr stream for all of them. Here’s a few I like.

Good morning!
