This is a vaudeville theater from the 1920s. In the 1950s it was converted to a movie house. The Gaslight theater troupe in Lockhart is busy turning it back into a full-fledged theater and doing their best keep its original character. While I was taking photos of the marquee, a fellow came out and invited me inside to see their work in progress. They took me to see some of the original graffiti as well as point out some of the older features of the auditorium.

I Voted

I early voted yesterday. Next Tuesday I’ll get to vote again via a caucus. Yep, Texas gives new meaning to the phrase, “vote early and vote often.”
Hugs!

Barack Obama

I went to a HUGE rally for Senator Obama on Friday night. While it did involve many hours of standing and wishing for a nice comfy seat, it was fun and everyone around me was very pleasant to talk to.

Voting in Texas

Voting in the Texas Democratic primaries is an interesting activity. First, Republicans have done their best to gerrymander districts to their benefit and polling places can be difficult to get to, but the oddest thing is that you get to vote twice. Twice? Yep. We have a primary election and a caucus. You can only participate in the caucus if you have already voted. Huh?
