Oh Hell, Hail

Well, I guess it’s a good thing I hadn’t gotten my roof repaired from the last hail storm, because we are having another one. Not as bad as the last one, but probably bad enough to do more damage. I admit to being a total weenie about my new car – I ran outside and threw an old comforter over the end of it. I didn’t want it to end up all dimpled like the last car and the wind was blowing so hard I didin’t trust the carport to keep the hail away.

Today’s Distractions

I’ve suddenly grown very addicted to this site: KittenWar. So many cute kittens, so little time. I’ve submitted photos of Sasha and Mishka and am waiting for them to enter battle.

And Store Wars seems to be making the rounds. No wonder – it’s well done and very funny in bits.

Lastly, to everyone who is leaving work early in order to start their three day weekend? A pox on you! You ruined my lunch hour by clogging up the streets.

Great iPods in History

Mike Davidson is giving away iPod shuttles. Who is Mike Davidson? I really don’t know, but he has an interesting blog that’s well worth checking out. The announcment of his second shuttle giveaway (Great iPods in History) has inspired some great entries. Browse through them and enjoy! And while you are over there, check out the first contest where people fashioned iPods out of food.

Eeeeeee!

So, there I am in bed, sound asleep. Something tickles my hand and wakes me up – at least, that’s what I’m assuming wakes me up. I shake my hand figuring it’s just nothing and roll over. Oh look, there’s a huge cockroach on the pillow right next to me. I guess that wasn’t “nothing” tickling my hand. Eeeeee! I don’t think I’ve ever jumped out of bed that quickly in my life. The worst part? I couldn’t kill it. It ran back under the bed before I could smoosh it. I can’t go back to sleep now!

Vacation

I got back from another fun trip to NY on Thursday. It was made more fun by the fact I didn’t have to worry about packing spare contacts, contact lens case, saline solution and glasses. My vision is really settling in and I like it. I could tell when I was getting dehydrated during the trip, though. My eyes would get dry and my vision would get a little blurry, so I guess I also gained a new body hydration meter. You can see photos from my vacation over here.

Book

I’m in a book. It’s probably dead boring and I probably won’t like how I come across, but I’m in a book. Now if I can just remember what alias I chose. (And to decide if I want to spend that much money on that book.)

Blurry

Everything is very blurry today. I’m not happy about that. I know they said things would “settle” for a bit, but I hope this isn’t the direction my vision is settling in.
