In a brilliant marketing campaign by the Simspons Movie, a very limited number of 7-Elevens were given Kwik-E-Mart makeovers. I drove to the one in Dallas and it was PACKED!

My photos in the strangest places
Posted by miri On 9 July, 2007
Bighugelabs.com has a new flickr tool called “DNA” that includes an “ego” search of who/what is linking to your photos. I gave it a whirl and found some of mine in the strangest places.
- O Mueller Pioneers (okay, not that strange given the number of photos I’ve taken at Mueller)
- phillyist.com – what a random place for a photo taken at the Austin Zoo
- Ash and Deshar – liked Mishka as a lolcat
- David Crow
- Superstitious Hyperrealist – links to a graffiti photo
- Corsaria
- Pandafix – again, not too surprising
- Animal Grahams – most definitely not a lion in the wild
- The Cute Project – another panda photo
- Flickring Tales

Sadly, the access road was blocked off, so I couldn’t get a picture of this from the side.

More fun with the glass brick at Mom’s house
Spreading toilet culture
Posted by miri On 6 July, 2007
A new public restroom in China has more than 1,000 stalls, an Egyptian facade and soothing music.
“We are spreading toilet culture. People can listen to gentle music and watch TV,” said Lu Xiaoqing, an official with the Yangrenjie, or “Foreigners Street,” tourist area where the bathroom is located. “After they use the bathroom they will be very, very happy.”
Hey, who wouldn’t by happy to go to the bathroom with 1,000 strangers?
