When Windows patches go bad…

Bears 1, Keeper 0
Posted by miri On 12 October, 2005
Bears eat keeper – at first that sounds pretty horrific. Then you add the rest of the article title “who took their bile†and this paragraph:
The bile is extracted in an excruciatingly painful process which involves slicing into the animal’s flesh and “milking” the substance with a tube.
And you are reminded that justice can often be horrific.

Memory Walk – Done
Posted by miri On 1 October, 2005
I did the memory walk – it took me an hour to go 5K, but I did it. It had to be hot and 80% humidity today? Sheesh! I think I fucked up my foot, though. I was wearing my sneakers with special inserts, but my feet still hurt worse than they did after walking the Vegas strip. Some tendon/muscle/something under my foot (going from heel to arch) is swollen up big time. Guess I should ice it.

Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk
Posted by miri On 25 September, 2005
I’ve signed up for the Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk to raise money in my Grandmother’s name. It’s a 5K – been awhile since I walked that far in one bit. But once I found out it was next weekend, I thought the timing was significant and I felt I needed to sign up.

The camera I had ordered arrived yesterday, so I took some pictures to take my mind off things. Here are a few samples:
