I took Miri to the vet today for her shots and a wellness check. He said she seems to be just fine. So, I’m now wondering if her behavior changes (she’s been very needy and sometimes meows non-stop) are because she misses Sasha. I didn’t think she would since they never played together or even hung out in the same room very often. I’m thinking of getting another cat, but don’t know if that would just make her more unhappy (to say she was unhappy when I got Sasha would be one of the biggest understatements of the century). I’m afraid she’ll revert to the “liquid deposits of displeasure” behavior she’s shown in the past. More than that, I’m just worried it would make her unhappy and stress her out. It’s so hard to know what”s best.

Contractor Hell
Posted by miri On 8 October, 2002
Doesn’t anyone care about doing a quality job these days? Both my mom and my boss are going through hell thanks to home contractors who don’t seem to give a damn. Just when I think I can’t be more shocked at their ineptness and the problems that causes, it’s all raised to a new level. Both have spent money well beyond their means and beyond what should have had to be paid if things had been done right the first time…and neither has a house that is livable.
Netscape 7

Netscape 7 has been officially released and, I must say, I’m loving it (well, after deleting all the AOL crap). It’s not as compact as Mozilla, but it’s nice to have more options to chose from.

In the category of weird things I didn’t need to know about myself – I have smaller than average red blood cells. Well, at least something about me is smaller than average…
Good-Bye Sasha

I woke up to cat vomit all over the house – for the second time this week. I went to find Sasha and she was laying in her own poop in the litter box. If ever there was a site that could push me towards doing what I needed to have done awhile ago, that was it. I took her to the vet and held her while her pain was taken away from her.
Sampras Wins!

Yeah! Pete Sampras won the US Open. While not as exciting as his last US Open match against Aggasi, it still had some great points and wonderful shot-making.
Goth Mom
Posted by miri On 6 September, 2002
Mom was in a car accident last Monday. Both cars were totalled. Mom was a passenger in the back seat and wasn’t wearing her seat belt. She was thrown forward and konked her head on the headrest of the seat in front of her. She has a huge knot on her forehead and since then, has developed amazing black eyes (seen to the right in their early “red” phase). I’ve been teasing her about going Goth. She’s doing remarkably well otherwise – not anywhere near as achy as I feared she’d be. Just don’t touch her head – it’s still pretty swollen. The other people in the car are doing a bit worse, but nothing”s broken and they are hanging in there.
