Heading out for the nightly hunt

Austin in the home of America’s largest urban bat colony. They head out from under the Congress Ave bridge every night at sunset to much on bugs. Yay, bats!
Computer desk shopping
Posted by miri On 4 June, 2006
I drove to Temple today so that I could see a computer desk. I found it online at Staples – which we don’t have in Austin. I couldn’t find any local carriers that had it, so off I went. I dragged mom along with me and we stopped for dinner and some pictures on the way back. You can check out the whole set here.
The Mishka Clean Sheet Mambo
Posted by miri On 3 June, 2006
Since I don’t feel like doing any of the stuff I should be doing, it’s time to present The Mishka Clean Sheet Mambo – followed up with a bit of “the blanket isn’t as interesting as the sheets, but there’s always that camera strap.” Of course, he actually calmed down a lot by the time I got my camera and got back into the room. Darn cat.
(I couldn’t figure out how to get the original audio to go away, sorry about that. I tried to mask it with a song.)
Found money

I just got this in the mail:
Congratulations to Beth Wilson of Austin. Beth is this month’s winner in the KVUE Precision Camera & Video Weather Snapshot Contest. She has won a $100 gift certificate from Precision Camera & Video which can be picked up or redeemed at Precision Camera & Video on North Lamar in Austin during regular business hours. Any manager on duty can help her collect her prize.
Cool! $100 found dollars for this picture. (Uh…just don’t ask what the lens/camera cost!)
Out, damn ant!
Posted by miri On 29 May, 2006
There’s an ant in my monitor. I keep seeing him running around on the screen, but when I try to mush him, I just feel screen. He definitely doesn’t like it when I push on the screen – so he must be inside. It’s driving me batty!
